Robert Edgar, and Living by Design is a part of the history of Life, the importance of good design and critical drawings to support accurate details is so crucial to the ultimate goal of a satisfactory Project which is correct in Design and also compiled for the best possible Living of Life for all.

The importance of costing and overall correct details is so important for the outcome of any Project or Planning Application or indeed any Building Regulation Application and since 1983 Robert Edgar has strived to complete projects on time, within budget, and also with a correct amount of detailed drawings together with supporting specifications to enable an accurate completion of all aspect of any works undertaken.

The Family Building Business was formed on the 14th February 1975 and the goal from the outset was to Design & Build new Homes and extensions or improvements to the highest quality standard, the Business succeeded with this until approx 1989 and stopped trading at this time (Father died in 1985 and a deep recession occurred between 1987 up to the end of 1989)

Robert Edgar commenced working for many of the Main stream building companies and was very successful with this, gaining a Top One Hundred NHBC Pride in the Job award in 2004 while working as a Senior Site Manager for Barratt Homes (SW) Ltd and over the years continued to support projects with Detailed Drawings and progressively moved
towards Computer Generated Drawings.

Currently he can provide a full service of computer based drawings (all to scale) this can cover initial designs thoughts through to full working drawings and also can provide 3D Computer designed drawings if requested to cover all internal or external features of the works. All drawings will be in colour and will be provided in PDF file format

Planning applications can be managed if required subject to agreeing any fees together with full building regulation applications, also should structural engineers calculations be required he has excellent contacts in this direction to provide suitable drawings and supporting details to complete the whole project plan from commencement to final completion.

Living by Design is able to offer a most competitive package for the design and creation of any works in hand and can also provide a Project Management Package if required. The entire approach is one of design for living and built for life and this concept is fundamental for “Living by Design”
